The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has called for an immediate investigation after more than 800 citizens showed signs of poisoning at the municipality of Decan.
Her declaration comes amid suspicions that the poisoning might have been intentional.
Osmani spoke to health minister Arben Vitia and the mayor of Decan Bashkim Ramosaj who briefed her on the current state of the citizens and measures are taken.
“I expect further and full commitment by all institutions in offering adequate medical treatment to those who were poisoned, as well as discover the reasons behind it”, said the president in a Facebook post.
“An investigation from judicial organs is imperative and must be treated with urgency”, she added.
