SPAK has issued the order that placed former Minister of Internal Affairs, Rovena Voda under house-arrest. The former public official is being accused of using her authority as minister, to influence other high-ranking officials and obtain favors in return for payment.

According to SPAK, Mrs. Voda has “admitted to having received monetary payments and other unlawful material profits from citizens Majlinda Hasani and Florida Beu”.

The unlawful monetary and material benefits in this case have been accepted by Rovena Vora, in order to exercise her influence on other citizens in high positions of power, so that they could show unfair preferential treatment to citizen Florida Beu, and appoint the latter as an employee in the civil sector, at an executive role.

Voda stepped down from her office on July 29th 2020, after keeping it since May 22nd 2017. During this time, she has simultaneously served as the head of the Central Task Force against the Cultivation and Trafficking of Cannabis.

Born in Durres and a graduate of Law School, from September 2014 to March 2017, Mrs. Voda served as the director of the cabinet of the Ministry of Relations with the Parliament, and was later appointed in this same position at the Ministry of Internal Affairs on March 2017.
