Four people have been arrested in Durres on suspicion that they are involved in a corruptive affair involving the forgery of property papers.

Euronews Albania journalist Eni Ferhati has learned that one of the persons detained by the police is the lawyer of the Durres cadastre agency, in an investigation led by the local prosecution office.

In the last weeks, the Special Prosecution has released several arrest warrants charging high-state officials with “abuse of office”.

On July 6, SPAK hit Lushnje mayor with an arrest warrant for abusing his authority in collaboration with other subordinates.

Four days later, 9 functionaries, some of them were no longer in office, from the Interior Ministry were arrested for abusing with a tender on the uniforms of the State Police.

The most recent case was that of the former deputy interior minister Rovena Voda charged with exerting illicit influence on individuals holding public posts, landing her a “house arrest” sentence.
