The Court of Tirana slammed the former officer charged with the murder of Klodian Rasha with a 10-year prison sentence.
The initial sentence totaled 15 years behind bars, but the former cop will benefit from an abbreviated trial, a procedure in Albanian law that skips through a detailed examination of the evidence.
During today’s trial, Hajdaraj’s attorney requested to change his charges from “first-degree murder” to “murder exceeding self-defense”, as well as calling for the most lenient sentencing.
Hajdaraj did not speak during the trial, but his attorney stated that his client has expressed remorse.
