Ylber Pjetërnikaj is the other official, who along with Aurora Mulla, refused to sign the tender for the uniforms of the State Police.

Euronews Albania journalist Eni Ferhati reports that the head of the Audit Commission, Ylber Pjetërnikaj, told the prosecutor that while evaluating tender offers, he came across problems in certifying the company that was proclaimed as the winner.

Pjetërnikaj said there were issues regarding the company’s certifications, qualifications as well as the number of shoes to be provided.

For this reason, he had informed the director of the Concentrated Purchasing Agency Edlira Naqellari.

According to him, Naqellari called him several times in her office and was keen to seal the process as soon as possible, but Pjetërnikaj refused to sign the paperwork granting the tender.

Another important detail surfacing from the investigation is a form where the General Director of the State Police, Ardi Veliu, rejects the operator that won the tender.

In the form sent to the Concentrated Purchasing Agency dated August 20 it is pointed out that there was a contradiction in the prices of the products that would be delivered to the police.

So far, nine officials, as well as former officials, have been detained and are awaiting trial.
