The State Audit ascertained that the economic damage incurred due to corruptive tender affairs in 2020 was worth €10 million.

The Public Procurement system appears to be the most problematic with over 9,238 violations leading to €5 million in losses.

The main violations resulted in taxation, border checks, concessions, and property.

The main findings in the procurement system are tied to miscalculations of the limit fund in tenders, favoring several operators as well as altering the criteria in contracts.

In 2020, the indicator was evaluated at 1.8 points out of a maximum of 4, reflecting a similar situation to that in 2019.
