On Thursday, the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime upheld a previous ruling leaving former deputy interior minister, Rovena Voda, to house arrest.
Voda has been charged with exerting illicit influence on public functionaries.
Specifically, Albania’s former deputy interior minister received material gains in exchange for hiring Florida Beu.
According to SPAK, Voda obtained €1,000, a cellphone, and a crate of fish.
The scandalous affair was only discovered after another wiretap recording that led to the arrest of Kukes prosecutor Edmond Kariqi on corruption charges.
