The former director of Korca’s Post Office, Valter Gora, as well as a former security expert, were arrested by local police after being accused of abuse of office.

It is suspected that the two used their authority to forge rental contracts of premises that were to be used for the branches of the Albanian Post Office in Korca, Maliq, and Pogradec.

Another citizen is on a run, while seven other postal workers suspected to have collaborated with Gora were barred from leaving the country.

Investigations so far revealed that the former director received considerable sums by forging documents, determining dubious offers that would benefit different citizens as well as signing abusive lease contracts.

Korca’s former Post Office director had been under investigation since last year in October, confirmed police authorities.
