The government decided to financially support the Council of the Municipality of Durres to bring the city’s waste to the landfill of Sharra.

Today was the last deadline, when the company that manages the landfill of Sharra would accept waste from the City of Durres.

On September 2020, the Municipal Council of Durres decided to accept one of the 3 proposal sponsored by the government, that foresaw the disposal of the city’s waste to the landfill of Sharra for a period of up to 15 years, at a cost of €51 million euros.

By now, the Municipality of Durres will need to build a gathering station so that the waste can be ultimately transported to Sharra.

For a ton of waste, the cost will be €40.57 euros. However, according to the company that manages the landfill of Sharra, this cost has yet to be negotiated with their executive team.
