Two young men from Kosovo have been detained by road authorities after getting caught racing at the Fier-Vlora highway, as well as refusing to stop to the police.

Driving at a speed of 225 km/h, the two young men were stopped as soon as they exited the highway in Vlora, and now they are also being accused of failing to stop to police orders.

Each of the drivers, one living in Switzerland and the other in Kosovo, got a maximum fine, respectively €1,350 and €1,050

The segment is known for being quite problematic. Nearly a month ago, an entire family died in a tragic car crash.

Following the grave incident, as well as the high number of road accidents recorded leading to 90 victims in only 5 months, road authorities have increased their presence on almost all highways.
