Ilir Beqaj, former health minister, asserted that corruption in the health care system remains a problem.

In an interview with journalist Bruna Cifligu for Euronews Albania, he said that he did not succeed in eradicating this phenomenon during his time as health minister.

“The fact that it’s been a long time that we know of the existence of the problem and we haven’t been able to solve it. I am obliged to speak less of it as my duty was to face it for three years and a half. Apparently, I didn’t succeed”, said among other the former health minister.

The former Socialist MP also said took responsibility for SP’s results in Shkodra.

“If we refer to our result in Shkodra, it was not good, the main responsibility falls on me as a political leader”, said the Beqaj.
