Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti has called for creating more solid ties with Albania during an event marking the “100th anniversary – Hasan Prishtina Prime Minister of Albania”, in Skopje.

In a video message, Kurti praised Skopje’s contribution to the national cause and called for further bilateral projects in order to strengthen ties.

“The message I want to convey today is that of being closer to one another, with joint projects, coordination, and work. Only when we are strongly connected, we can open to our neighbors without being in danger”, he said.

According to Kurti, the Albanian people are pro-Western and strong allies of the United States and the European Union. He also said that tackling corruption is an “urgent task” in order to pave the way to economic development.

The head of Kosovo’s executive said that the “region will win security and long-term stability only when condemning and isolating criminals” and that “Albanian politicians should refrain from collaborating with crime”.

“The good times are coming for the Albanian people and our neighbors, because our main allies are more than ever determined to help us in our fight for justice and democracy, but also against Russian and Chinese interference in our countries and in the region. I am sure that Albanians, wherever they live in the Balkans, will not lose this crucial historical moment”, declared Kurti.
