The Chair of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha has also responded positively to the request made by the United States, to house several thousand Afghan migrants whose lives are a risk from the Taleban, due to their collaboration with Western forces during the War in Afghanistan.
Basha also noted that Albania should fulfil its duties as a member of NATO and stand alongside the United States.
In his statement on social media, Basha added that we shouldn’t show a lack of solidarity toward anyone that fought for democracy in Afghanistan.
“As it has done before, Albania should once again do its part in proportion to its conditions and capabilities,” – wrote Basha.
The DP leader also argued that bad governance is the true cause of depopulation in our country, not strategic solutions in the framework of NATO or our strategic cooperation with the US.
