Former PM of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj has come out in favour of the stance held by the Albanian government in regards to sheltering the Afghan emigrants for as long as it’s needed for them to ultimately reach their final destination, the US.

Through a post on his Facebook account, Haradinaj said that Kosovo should assume the mission of temporarily housing the Afghan citizens and stand alongside the United States.

He also made some remarks regarding the repatriation of Kosovar citizens from Syria, during which the US has shown us their support.

“Kosovo should volunteer to shelter the Afghan dissidents and stand alongside the United States of America, the same way they stood alongside us, when we repatriated our citizens from Syria!” – wrote Haradinaj.

Meanwhile, Luan Dalipi, chief of staff at PM Kurit’s office, confirmed for Euronews Albania earlier today that since mid-July, the Kosovo government has been closely communicating with US authorities and armed forces regarding this matter, which is being considered and handled with great care.
