The beginning of August has seen a rise in the intensity of daily cases being reported all around Kosovo.

The ministry of health has announced that two citizens have lost their lives in the last 24 hours and 740 others were reported to have been infected with the coronavirus.

Authorities argue that the number of citizens recovering is dozens of times lower compared to the number of new infections.

48 citizens have recovered in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to over 106 thousand since the outbreak of the pandemic last year.

Based on the numbers published by the National Institute of Public Health, currently, there are over 8 000 active cases.

Experts say that the rise in infections and active cases is linked to the spread of the Delta variant, which is why they urge all citizens to head to their closest vaccination center.
