The number of infections this week in Albania has seen a considerable rise, as active cases reached 2.395 nationwide.
According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 29 661 tests were conducted within the last 7 days.
Parallel to the rise in infections, there’s also been a rise in patients requiring medical assistance and thus being admitted to hospital; 54 of them are receiving specialized treatment as we speak.
In terms of vaccination, since the beginning of the pandemic in our country, a total of 1.330.754 vaccinations have been administered, with over 60 000 administered in the last week alone.
The situation has aggravated in Kosovo as well, where the number of infections has increase at a high pace, as the country registered around 8.000 new cases in just the past 6 days.
In North Macedonia, the situation also continues to be significantly concerning, especially in terms of fatalities, as 61 citizens lost their lives because of the coronavirus in the past week.
