Kosovo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday that 4 citizens were evacuated from Afghanistan, following the country’s rapid takeover by the Taliban.
The exact number of Kosovo citizens in Afghanistan is still unknown. However, the government has expressed its readiness to shelter Afghan refugees.
A few days ago, Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that the government of Kosovo has been conducting on-going discussions with the United States of America for a month to shelter Afghan refugees, however there are no specific figures regarding the number of Afghan citizens that will be housed in Kosovo.
Thousands have attempted to flee Afghanistan in the days after Taliban forces took control of Afghanistan’s capital city of Kabul.
