Eight people were confirmed dead in Kosovo after being infected with COVID-19.
New coronavirus cases leaped in the country during the last week, as 2,000 new cases were reported only in the last 24 hours.
The country has seen a surge of new cases during the last two weeks and according to the Ministry of Health, health authorities have carried out around 11.000 COVID-19 tests, while 138 citizens have recovered.
Since Kosovo began its vaccination campaign around 644.122 doses have been injected to the citizens of the country.
However, authorities raise concern about the high number of active cases observed in the last days.
According to the Public Health Institute, there are over 14 thousand active cases throughout Kosovo.
