The United States has deemed Albania a country with a high risk in terms of the pandemic and the spread of COVID-19.
Through a notice published by the Center for Disease and Control Prevention (CDC), Albania was given a Level 3 Travel Health Notice due to COVID-19, indicating a high level of the virus in the country.
In turn, all American citizens were asked to exercise caution, when travelling to Albania, while also suggesting they reconsider their travel plans.
“Your risk of contracting COVID-19 and developing severe symptoms may be lower if you are fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized vaccine.
Before planning any international travel, please review the CDC’s specific recommendations for fully vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers,” states the notice.
