The minister of health, Ogerta Manastirliu has announced that the Albanian government is now undergoing negotiations with Pfizer BioNTech for the procurement of an additional 500 thousand doses of their vaccine by the end of the year.

On August 23^rd, the United States authorized the wide use of the Pfizer vaccine as a protection against COVID-19 infection for patients under the age of 16. At the same time, a batch of 43.512 Pfizer vaccines were delivered to our country.

PM Rama has announced earlier that the total number of vaccines that have arrived to Albania thus far is 1.899.172.

He invited all citizens to take advantage of the ‘open month’ of August, during which all adults over 18, are free to head to their closest health centre and get registered for their vaccine.
