Former Chairman of Parliament, Kole Berisha passes away

The former chairman of the parliament of Kosovo, Kole Berisha has passed away due to a serious illness he had been battling with.

Kole Berisha was once the deputy chair of Kosovo’s prominent political party LDK (Democratic Alliance for Kosovo) and he served as chairman from March 2006 – 2007, writes new agency KosovaPress.

The news of his passing was announced by his only son, Visar Berisha.

Leaders of the political arena in Kosovo, like president Vjosa Osmani and the current chair of LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku have extended their condolences throughout the day.

‘’His efforts to build the institutions of Kosovo will remain forever present in the minds and hearts of all Albanians, whereas his work and political activity will serve as a guide that will be praised from generation to generation.

Kosovo will remember the great work of the former Chairman of Parliament, MP and deputy leader of LDK, Kole Berisha, with honour and piety,’’ wrote Lumir Abdixhiku, Chair of LDK, in his message to Berisha’s colleagues, family and friends.
