The new members of the Democratic Party leadership have been announced. Amongst them, there are several new names that are becoming a part of the party’s leadership for the first time including Agron Gjekmarkaj, Fitim Zekthi, Kreshnik Collaku, Tomor Alizoti and Lindita Metaliaj.
The leadership has now expanded not only through these 15 member elected by the National Council, but also through the heads of secretariats, deputy directors and the leaders of partner organizations.
Euronews Albania correspondent, Ardit Hoxha reported from DP’s headquarters that the total number of members making up the new leadership is now 38, a number larger than ever before.
After the process of vote counting, which wrapped up at around 1:30 a.m., renowned Democrat personalities seem to have been left out.
One of them is Agron Shehaj, who was 7 votes short, or Xhelal Mziu, who needed another 3 votes to become a member.
