President Ilir Meta has decreed September 10th as the official date for the meeting of the first plenary session of the new Parliament, which came as a result of the April 25th general elections.

In September 10th’s session, the 10th legislation will be constituted and the new chairperson of the parliament will be voted in.

This session will pave the wave for Edi Rama’s official third term, when he will form the new administration and be sworn in as the country’s prime minster before president, Ilir Meta.

The plenary session will be held a day after PM Rama announces his new cabinet.

The day prior to the parliament meeting, the Socialist Party will be holding its General Assembly, during which PM Rama is expected to announced the names of his new government.

In the last parliamentary elections, SP won 74 seats, DP and its coalition 59 seats, SMI 4 seats and PSD 3 seats.
