COVID-19 claimed the lives of 3 citizens over the past 24 hours, taking the official death toll to 2,501.
Daily new infections remain high with 982 people testing positive on Wednesday.
The majority of the cases were detected in Tirana (275), Shkodra (102), and Durres (73).
According to estimates from the health ministry, there are nearly 10,600 active cases across the country.
Rising figures have also affected the number of hospitalizations. Currently, there are 100 patients receiving medical treatment at the Infective Diseases Hospital, of which 15 are in a more serious condition.
Around 147,370 citizens have tested positive to COVID-19 from the beginning of the pandemic in the country of 2,8 million (INSTAT, 2020).
Albania has injected 1,472,316 vaccine doses as of September 1, with 641,920 of the adult population fully jabbed.
