Albanians have chosen Ogerta Manastirliu as the minister that they would prefer to see when the third government of Prime Minister Rama is formed.

10% of the respondents declared that they want to see the health minister stay in office, as opposed to 3.1% that were against.

The results of the survey were published during a TV special, one day ahead of the revelation of the official ministerial cabinet of Prime Minister’s Edi Rama third consecutive term, by “Barometer”, a show produced by Euronews Albania entirely dedicated to the public opinion of Albanian citizens.

6.5% of the respondents also expressed their desire to see infrastructure minister Belinda Balluku in the upcoming cabinet of the Rama government meanwhile, 0.4% responded negatively.

Next in line ranked education minister Evis Kushi (6.2% in favor), foreign affairs minister Olta Xhaçka (6.1% in favor), and diaspora minister Pandeli Majko (6% in favor).

It appears that citizens do not have a preferred minister in the 15-person team of the current Socialist cabinet, given that there is no stark difference in the figures from one minister to another.

The survey consisted of 1,000 face-to-face interviews in rural and urban areas conducted during the month of August.

Asked about which ministers they do not want to see as part of the new government for the next 4 years, citizens answered as follow:

  • 4.6% against – Blendi Klosi – minister of tourism and the environment
  • 2.5% against – Bledi Çuçi, minister of interior affairs, Erion Braçe – deputy prime minister, Pandeli Majko – minister for the diaspora
  • 2.4% against – Niko Peleshi – defense minister

After successfully predicting the results of the parliamentary polls, “Barometer” is set to return weekly from September 9, serving as a credible measure of the Albanian public mood. The full results of the survey will be published on Thursday, September 9.
