The Independent Qualifications Commission has disbarred the Prosecutor of Saranda, Sali Hasa after he wasn’t able to provide the necessary evidence to justify his accumulated wealth.
The prosecutor also refused to respond to the request of the commission and wasn’t present during the hearing session on his vetting.
On June 19th, Sali Hasa was arrested over passive corruption allegations and the First Appellate Court against Corruption and Organized Crime decided to issue a ‘house arrest’ interim measure against him.
SPAK suspects that he agreed to receive a large amount of cash from citizen Elsiona Papa, to exercise his influence on her brother Emiljan Mirjani’s case, who was being accused of armed assault.
According to the casefile, Papa bribed the prosecutor so that he could suspend all investigations against her brother, who was being charged with ‘premeditated assault’ and ‘carrying a firearm without a license.
Back in June, the High Prosecution Council decided to suspend Saranda’s prosecutor from all his official duties.
