A 25-year-old tourist on holiday in Vlora passed away Friday morning after falling from a boat.
The incident took place at the port of Vlora, where reportedly the young woman was stepping down from a boat that had just been anchored, reported Euronews Albania correspondent Ebrieta Macaj.
The girl was immediately sent to hospital and was later declared dead.
The police arrested a 47-year-old man from Vlora in connecting with the incident, accused of breaching safety rules.
According to law enforcement authorities, the man should have not allowed people to board the boat while it was anchored.
An investigation from the Vlora Prosecution Office is currently underway.
