Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud held a press joint conference following his official visit to Tirana.

PM Rama expressed his appreciation for the Saudi’s support, adding that the meeting is only the first of a series of bilateral meetings.
The Albanian prime minister also recalled that more tourists are now arriving in the country thanks to increased cooperation between the two countries, aiming to spillover the same positive effect into other spheres.
“We agreed to establish a joint committee as soon as possible, to specifically address the priorities in the function of deepening economic cooperation”, said Rama.
Recognition was another topic that the two state officials went over during the conference. The Saudi foreign minister reiterated that his country recognizes Kosovo and is working on making the case more sensitive among the member countries of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) that do not recognize it yet.
According to him, Saudi Arabia has contributed to Kosovo’s case to every international institution.
PM Rama said that the Green Saudi and Green Middle East initiatives, aimed at tackling climate change, will be on a global scale, and expressed his content in being part of the world’s biggest afforestation project where 50 billion trees will be planted.
