The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo recorded 14 deaths from COVID-19 on Saturday, while 583 tested positive.
The number of active cases in the country of 2.8 million remains high, as authorities confirm 18,548 active infections, predominantly in Prishtina.
Over 135,250 have recovered from the beginning of the pandemic.
Kosovo ranks second to last, after Bosnia and Herzegovina, in terms of fully vaccinated citizens.
According to Our World in Data, 17.97% of the population has been fully jabbed.
Earlier during the day, the country’s health institute appealed to President Vjosa Osmani to postpone the local elections due on October 17 amid fears that electoral rallies and gatherings might fuel the epidemiological situation even more.
The virus has claimed the lives of 2,772 citizens.
