The General Prosecution began work on the verification of ministers following the communication sent out by President Ilir Meta.
The Prosecution has forwarded a request for information to all related bodies of investigation in the country, in order to gather the necessary data related to each minister.
Upon acquiring all the necessary documents, the General Prosecution will release an official response for President Meta. Meanwhile, sources from SPAK have announced that the memo asking for the verification of all 16 ministers has arrived at the Special Prosecution Office.
Included in Meta’s bid for verification are background checks and information regarding any possible ongoing or past investigations or criminal proceedings that the ministers might be involved in.
The president has also asked that the Prosecution should provide this information without impinging on the principle of ‘investigative secret’.
After the formation of the new Parliament, President Meta mandated Rama to create the new government as the leader of the winning party, coming out of the April 25th general elections.
