The Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic have agreed to meet on Wednesday in Slovenia in the presence of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron, confirmed the Office of the Prime Minister for Euronews Albania.
Ahead of the EU-Western Balkans Summit held in Brdo, Kurti stated that the EU must continue to enlarge in order to “become Europe”.
“As one of the most important political projects and historical processes of peace and prosperity since World War II, the EU must continue to enlarge in order to transform into Europe. And the six countries of the Western Balkans are the region that the EU is missing in order to be complete. We are Europe, but the European Union must transform into Europe”, he said.
In addition, he also criticized the EU for not removing travel visas for the citizens of Kosovo.
“More than three years have passed since when the European Commission recommended for a second time liberalizing visas for the citizens of Kosovo and it is a great injustice that this has not happened yet, and it is a lack of fair treatment for the citizens of our country who have suffered so much”, Kurti said.
