Gledis Nano has been elevated in duty and appointed as the new General Director of the Albanian State Police, stepping down as the chief of the anti-terror squad.
Nano, known for having broad support from the internationals, particularly the US, has been a key actor in many important projects, including repatriation missions involving Albanian citizens stranded in Syrian war camps.
In August, the US Embassy organized a ceremony to honor Nano, while Ambassador Yuri Kim presented him the “Commendation Award” as a sign of recognition for his “partnership and dedication in support of the U.S. Embassy’s joint efforts with the Albanian State Police to combat global terrorism”
