Kosovo’s PM, Albin Kurti conducted a highly-anticipated meeting in Slovenia, with German chancellor Angela Merkel, French president, Emmanuel Macron and Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic.

In a statement for the media following the meeting at the EU-Western Balkans Summit, Kurti said that the main topics of discussions covered during the encounter were the Berlin Process, free movement and the recognition of diplomas.

Kurti failed to mention whether or not there were any more specific discussions regarding the Kosovo-Serbia relations.

In addition, Kosovo’s PM also noted that he completely supports reaching an agreement between the six countries of the Western Balkans, on the condition that everyone is treated equally and that citizens are the ultimate beneficiaries in the end.

The EU-Western Balkans Summit held in Brdo, Slovenia amongst 27 EU member states as well as the 6 Western Balkans countries, is part of the strategic engagement platform of the EU with the Balkans region, in compliance with the strategic agenda for 2019-2024.

This summit succeeded the EU-Western Balkan Summit of Sofia in 2018 and the 2020 EU-Western Balkans Summit in Zagreb, which was organized via a video conference call.
