Euronews Albania has learned that authorities from the State Police have forwarded a report to the Special Prosecution Against Corruption (SPAK), providing detailed information regarding former prosecutor, Adriatik Lalla’s lack of compliance with the arrest warrant issued against him.
The former director of the General Prosecution has been sentenced to 2 years in prison over hiding and not declaring his wealth on 3 separate occasions.
At this time, it’s up to SPAK to begin procedures that will declared the former prosecutor an internationally wanted fugitive.
According to police reports, Lalla left the country around 2 weeks before the final decision on his case would be announced by the Special Courts of Appeals against Corruption and Organized Crime.
The day when the court order to arrest him was finally issued, the police searched his residence, failing to find him and perform the arrest.
