Voters of the Democratic Party now prefer Sali Berisha over Lulzim Basha. In Euronews Albania’s latest poll conducted in September 2021, participants were asked which of the two leaders they prefer the most.
65% of Democrats said they prefer Berisha whereas 57% leaned towards Lulzim Basha.
These results can be cross-examined with the poll conducted last month, before Basha had announced his decision to oust Sali Berisha from DP’s parliamentary group. At the time, Lulzim Basha had an approval rating of 67% amongst DP voters, compared to Berisha’s 56% rating.
The same approval trend is present amongst the rest of the population.
In August, Lulzim Basha had a higher approval rating, whereas after the poll conducted over the month of September, there’s a significant rise in the approval rating for Sali Berisha, who went from 19-29%.
Meanwhile, Lulzim Basha’s rating stayed almost the same, going from 26%-24%.
