The leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha asserted that there is no energy crisis, but a “crisis of corruption, mismanagement, with a purpose and a plan”.

‘You’ve seen the balance sheets of energy operators. You’ve seen how in the summer they sell at a lower price and months later buy it for triple the price through fictitious tenders, with the money collected from taxpayers’, said Basha during a press conference.

The leader of the Democrats called the two companies responsible for producing and supplying energy as “enterprises plunged in corruption”.

“There is abundance for Edi Rama and the thieves of KESH and OSHEE, €10 million of unjustified money between the market price and how much they buy the energy for”, Basha said.

According to DP’s chair, Rama wants to take advantage of the disaster to fill in the holes in the state budget opened through corrupt tenders.

“He is responsible for the current state. Today he jokes around just to shift the attention elsewhere. The government of Rama refuses to hear the people’s calls and rejects our rational plan because he has his own plan to steal the Albanian people. We are in parliament for this battle, and for no other reasons, but to restore legitimacy to the country”.

He also added that the government has officially climbed the public debt to 80% and warned that alongside Public-Private-Partnerships it might reach 100%.
