Chair of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj has submitted a request to engage in an open debate in Parliament, regarding the American project – for the construction of a Natural Gas Pipeline by the Kurti Administration.

Haradinaj has argued that the claims that the $200 million US dollar MCC fund was never meant for gas and energy diversification are untrue.

According to the AAK leader, the government of Kosovo is refusing this project by making false claims and accusing it of involving  ‘Russian gas’.

The former PM of Kosovo also noted that all efforts for the initiation of this project have been made including “two feasibility studies that cost millions of dollars and were financed by American taxpayers”.

“Right now is a time, when we are actually so close to the final stages of starting this project and so close to the expiry date set by MCC and the US, and the Government of Kosovo decides to suspend it, by actually going as far as calling the American pipeline a Russian project,” – argued Haradinaj, adding that he is looking forward to having an open discussion in Parliament, where all views can be expressed and compared.
