Kosovo Albanians will continue to pay the same electricity tariff until April 2022, despite warnings of an oncoming global energy crisis and international price hikes.

The news was confirmed today by the Board of the Regulatory Energy Office (ZRRE), after their latest meeting that was called to discuss the current situation.

The lack of an energy price hike in Kosovo, at least until the set date, will come as a result of a revenue cap regulation, also known as the rule of the maximum allowed revenue, where the Universal Service Provider – KESCO has been approved a total value of 290.1 million euros, the Transmission System and Market Operator – KOSTT, a maximum value of 38.94 million euros and the Distribution System Operator, a maximum value of 90.51 million euros.

“The increase in revenues, as a result of the increase in electricity consumption, has neutralized the overall costs of electricity supply, which has allowed the maximum allowed revenues to not reflect a rise in the price of electricity for consumers,” – announced ZRRE.

In addition, ZRRE is also assessing a number of requests for the construction of new energy capacities, while also reviewing the monitoring report on electricity sales from the Ujman HEC.
