In order to appropriately react to the crisis induced by the COVID-19 pandemic, the OSHEE is taking out a €70-million-euro loan.
The Government referred the draft bill to Parliament today, which includes a detailed account of the financial assistance offered by EBRD (the European Banks for Reconstruction and Development).
The agreement was negotiated back in September after the pandemic had started to create hurdles in the liquidity of our energy sector.
The draft was deposited to Parliament today, a few days after PM Rama declared that this company would be receiving an additional €200 million euros over the next 6 months, from EBRD in the form of financial help.
The draft also aims to ratify the guaranty agreement amongst the Republic of Albania and EBRD, in regards to the loans deal, which will include the Operator of Electric Energy Provider and EBRD.
This funding is meant to enhance OSHEE’s performance, by providing the much-needed liquidity through this €70-million-euro loan.
