The anti-smuggling operation in the north conducted by the police, apart from tackling organized crime, is also revealing problems that Serbia and its leaders have claimed Perparim Kryeziu, a government spokesperson.

“Through our action, we are touching upon the sensitivity of the issue. On one hand, we are restoring law and order by combatting organized crime, and on the other hand, we are revealing Serbia’s destructiveness and the true colors of its leaders”, stated Kryeziu.

Asked on whether the government intends to take any measures against minister Goran Rakic after his remarks during an emergency meeting with Serbian President Alexandar Vucic, he responded that Serbia’s goal is to install problems within the government of Kosovo, as “they’re unable to mobilize Serbs against Kosovo”.

“They are failing to mobilize Kosovo Serbs against our government. That is why they’re trying to incite internal conflicts in the government, and consequently, mobilize Kosovo Serbs against the executive. Rakic is not an issue here, but his discharge would turn him into an issue”, he said.

After the police carried out an anti-smuggling operation on Wednesday in northern Kosovo, the Minister of Communities and Returns Goran Rakic attended an emergency meeting called by President Vucic where he denounced the intervention.
