Former DP chair, Sali Berisha, met with Democrats in Korca this evening, where he was received with standing ovations and fireworks.

In his speech, – part of the ‘Pulpit’ tour – Berisha said that the past 8 years of Edi Rama’s administration, have been catastrophic for the country and have led to thousands of Albanians migrating in search of a better life.

According to the former PM, Rama can only be overthrown from power through powerful protests and that DP can only rise again through moral values.

In addition, Berisha said that the current DP chair was never able to create a leader’s personality while promising that DP will rise again and that although Basha tore them apart, Democrats will unite again.

“Unity isn’t enough, we need a great opening, we need to gather our forces, the best intellectuals so that our government can have the best possible expertise.

And this is still not enough, if we can’t take back the vote, that represents your will; if we don’t take back the power of the forums you elect, then all there can be is a monist structure that produces one failure after the other. You are the onea that decide, with your vote. You are the ones that choose your MPs and your prime minister. DP is getting ready. DP will be the house of freedom,” – said Berisha.

Renowned personalities from the ranks of DP were present at this meeting, including Tritan Shehu, Gent Strazimiri, Edmond Spaho, Flamur Noka, Gjergji Papa, etc.
