The Police of North Macedonia has arrested four people on suspicions of vote-buying ahead of the country’s local polls on Sunday.
The suspects were caught on Saturday in Skopje while handing out cash in exchange of votes, announced the Interior Ministry.
Law enforcement authorities seized 121,000 Macedonian denar, or around €2,000.
The detainees have been charged with “bribery in elections and voting”.
On Sunday, 1.824.864 eligible voters across North Macedonia will cast their vote in the first round of local elections.
