Elections in Kosovo and N. Macedonia, COVID patients voting from home

87 teams and a total of 348 members have come together to make sure that citizens, who have contracted the coronavirus can still have a chance to vote in Kosovo.

Apart from the CEC members, each team is made up of a medical professional and a police officer.

Each ballot box will contain masks, gloves and disinfectant, apart from the electoral materials.

Other teams have also been set up in Kosovo to ensure voting amongst senior citizens, persons with disabilities and inmates.

These teams have already put knowledge into practice during the country’s general elections on February 14, 2021.

1.885.448 citizens will have the right to vote in these municipal elections, in Kosovo.

In addition, the number of voting centres in the whole Republic of Kosovo is 883, offering a total of 2 477 ballot boxes.

Meanwhile, the number of citizens living abroad, that were successfully registered to vote is 15 532.

In North Macedonia, a special electoral commission has been tasked with taking the electoral process to the homes of those suffering from COVID-19. 7 921 citizens are currently infected in the country and eligible to vote.

Meanwhile, COVID patients weren’t given the opporunity to vote in Albania’s general elections, on April 25, 2021.
