Kosovo’s elections should serve as a model to the Western Balkans on how elections should be conducted, said Enver Bytyci, a political analyst, during an interview for Euronews Albania.

“In comparison to Albania is a hundred times ahead, but it is also much better than elections in Serbia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro”, stated the analyst.

He also added that the way polls are held reflects how democratic a country is, as well as how institutions work. According to the political analyst, the government of PM Albin Kurti is working hard on the consolidation of institutions.

Bytyci drew a comparison between the political culture in Kosovo and Albania, seeing the former as much more advanced than the latter.

He argued that this comes as a result of how much citizens tend to tolerate corruption in a country, and not just related to the integrity of state leaders.
