Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said on tonight’s Now with Erla Mehilli that unvaccinated students should not be attending classes.
“But of course, this is a matter that belongs to the respective authorities, as the government cannot deploy special units at the university to stop or kick out students”, said Rama, adding that the education ministry must continue to promote vaccinations among students, as well as guarantee a safe and secure environment.
The host of the show, Erla Mehilli, also asked the prime minister about why football fans were allowed to go to the stadium without showing a vaccine certificate, and why the same cannot be applied to auditoriums.
“The idea in the stadium was to allow only vaccinated citizens, although I am not sure whether this was respected”, responded PM Edi Rama, explaining that it was the responsibility of the Albanian Football Association to enforce the measure.
