COVID-19 continues to be a serious risk for the lives of Albanian citizens. In only the first 19 days of October, a total of 136 citizens lost their lives due to complications arising from the virus.
The daily death count continues to be high despite fluctuations in the daily case count.
In the past 24 hours, 12 citizens, unfortunately, lost their lives to the virus and another 616 were confirmed to have contracted it.
At the present moment, there’s a total of 6.289 known active cases nationwide, 50% of whom are centered in the capital city (3.076).
148 patients are receiving specialized treatment at Tirana’s COVID-designated hospitals, 16 of whom are exhibiting severe forms of the virus.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic in our country, there has been a total of 2,841 fatalities linked to the coronavirus.
