The leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) Monika Kryemadhi filed a lawsuit near SPAK on Thursday against the waste incinerator of Fier, a city located in the southwestern part of the country.
The lawsuit alleges “corruptive state affairs on incinerators”.
This is not the first time that SMI presses charges against the way how incinerator plants are accorded to companies, previously maintaining the same claims for the waste processing plant of Tirana, as well as Elbasan, around 39 kilometers away from the capital.
According to an announcement from party representatives, the lawsuit claims that former environment minister Lefter Koka, Socialist MP Alqi Bllako, and mayor of Fier, Armando Subashi, had committed two criminal offenses – “equality in public procurement” and “abuse of office”.
