US ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim, declared today that Parliament must adopt the changes to the Constitution necessary to extend the mandate of the members of the Vetting bodies.

Through a post on Twitter, the US diplomat stated that the sides should follow up on recommendations of the OSCE-ODIHR on the general elections.

Ambassador Kim’s statement comes after the meeting between the OSCE ambassador to Tirana, Vincenzo Del Monaco.

“We agreed that, in line with IMO recommendations, Parliament should pass the constitutional reform to extend the vetting mandate. Also, we agreed that authorities and parties should act on recommendations of the OSCE/ODHIR mission on elections,” – wrote the US ambassador.
