Every year, numerous Albanian citizens look forward to entering the annual US DV lottery, which may give them the opportunity to live and work abroad.
Even though the deadline for all entries is November 9, many submitted their applications on the very first day in hopes of getting selected.
The owner of one of the lottery submissions centers told Euronews Albania that the majority of applicants in the DV lottery have a higher education background.
“Usually, entrants have a secondary or post-secondary studies background. Most of them are also employed. During the first several days, the number of applications is low but it continues to pick up eventually, as we start to get closer to the deadline” – said Hidajet Dervishi, lottery center owner.
Dervishi also added that year after year, the number of those coming to his submissions center to enter the US lottery goes up.
On the other hand, there are many who enter the lottery privately by filling out their applications on their own.
