A 17-year-old girl is among the latest citizens to succumb to COVID-19 in North Macedonia, while the confirmed death toll has reached 7,098.

According to the health ministry, the young girl had been admitted to the hospital a few days ago and was also suffering from underlying conditions.

Around 201,300 people have tested positive from the beginning of the pandemic, with another 436 recorded over the past 24 hours.

23.94% of the population has now been fully jabbed, the fourth-highest rate among Western Balkan countries.
